Terms of Service

Bagging: Invoices · Effective date: June 27, 2026

Plain-language summary: Bagging is a simple, private receipt keeper. Use it for your own records, keep your own originals for anything that matters legally, and double-check what the app reads from a photo before you rely on it. It's provided as-is by a small independent developer.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Bagging ("we," "us"), the independent developer of the Bagging: Invoices iPhone app ("the app"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. What Bagging is

Bagging lets you scan or import photos of receipts and invoices, reads a suggested vendor, total, and date from each one on your device, and stores your saved entries and images privately to your account so you can browse, total, and export them. It is a personal record-keeping convenience — not accounting, bookkeeping, tax, or financial advice, and not a substitute for records you are legally required to keep.

2. Your account

You sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for the device and the Apple or Google account you use to access Bagging, and for keeping that access secure. Your saved receipts are tied to that account so that only you can see them.

3. Your content

The receipts, images, and details you add are yours. You keep all rights to them. You grant us only the limited permission needed to operate the app for you — to store, process, and display your content back to you, and to generate the exports you request. We do not claim ownership of your content and we do not use it for any purpose other than providing the app to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for the content you add and for ensuring you have the right to store it. Please don't use Bagging to store anything unlawful.

4. Accuracy & your own records

Text recognition is helpful but not perfect. The vendor, total, and date the app suggests may be wrong or incomplete, which is why the app asks you to review and correct them before saving. You are responsible for verifying any detail you rely on, especially for taxes, reimbursement, or accounting. For anything with legal or financial significance, keep your own original records — treat Bagging as a convenient copy, not the system of record.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the app in violation of any law or the rights of others;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the app or its backend;
  • use the app to store or transmit malware or unlawful material; or
  • resell or commercially redistribute the service.

6. Availability and changes

We work to keep Bagging available and reliable, but we provide it on an "as available" basis. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may suspend or discontinue the service, with reasonable notice where practical. Bagging may also be offered as a pre-release (for example via TestFlight); pre-release versions may be incomplete or change at any time.

7. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that text recognition will be accurate, that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it meets any particular accounting or tax requirement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bagging will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or records, arising out of or related to your use of the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Termination

You may stop using Bagging at any time and delete your receipts or your entire account from within the app. We may suspend or end your access if you materially violate these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (for example, accuracy responsibilities, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) continue to apply after termination.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in British Columbia will have jurisdiction, subject to any consumer-protection rights you have where you live.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above and post the new version at this URL. If you keep using the app after a change takes effect, that means you accept the updated Terms.
